Marc De Tollenaere was born in Tripoli, Libya, in 1969, from Belgian father and from once Italian region Istra refugee mother. He studied photography with Gianni Berengo Gardin, the most important Italian black and white photographer, David Alan Harvey (Magnum), Kent Kobersteen (former director of photography of National Geographic), Antonin Kratochvil (VII) and photographic multimedia communication with Bob Sacha (Life, Fortune and National Geographic) and various others.
