Marc De Tollenaere: How did you shoot this?
The subject was the famous Italian comedian Norberto Midani. As it often happens with people used to stay in front of the camera, my first thought was to make him feel free to act exactly as he wanted to.
For that reason I had to light the scene in a wider way so he could move freely. Unfortunately the ceiling was too low to put a flash and an Ezybox over his head, so I put the flash on an Avenger combi-boom stand A470 and I turned the flash to the ceiling (which was completely white) and I took the most advantage of the reflecting power of this area.
Then I put a baby light with a magic arm with the main light on an Ezy box 60 X 60, to the right side of the subject. Then, in order to make shadows less hard, I used an umbrella on a magic arm with flash, and a second baby light to the left side of the subject.
In the picture below, you can see the light scheme that’s just been described.
